If you have oily, acne prone skin, it can some times feel as though your skin is unmanageable.
Oily skinoften needs to be treated with special care using products that are made specaily for
your skin type, but being overly zealous may cause your skin to become even more oily.
Skin Cleanser
Skin
cleansing is a very essential part of looking after oily skin. When choosing a skin cleanser
it is importent to look for products that do not contain harsh soaps or chemicals, Some types of
facial wash can strip too much oil from your skin, which in turn can encourage your skin to produce
more oil. A gentle skin cleanser that is designed for normal or sensitive skin will usually be adequate.
This will also work to remove excess oil without drying out your skin.
Toning your skin
Toning is the next step to gets rid of any excess oil and make-up that has not been completely
removed by the cleanser. It's important to look for a toner that is labelled 'gentle' or alcohol-free,
as alcohol is ultra-drying to the skin. Also Avoid any
product that have 'astringent' or 'refining'on
the label, as these tend to contain alcohol.
Moisturising
Contrary to popular belief, oily skin can still benefit from moisturising. It may be oily, but it still
needs the added
moisture to keep it smooth and supple. Moisturising is also very important to
ansure that your skin is guarded against the excessive loss of water and the drying influences of
the environment and the effects of the sun. A light, low oil
contant moisturiser will usually be
enough to do this without clogging up your pores or being too heavy.
